Gen Z Long Island Advertising Pointers To Know

By Paula Hess

If you were born anywhere from the mid-90s to the early aughts, you are classified as being in Generation Z. Anyone that specializes in digital marketing will attest to the fact that this group may be one of the most challenging to reach. The methods that may have worked in the past aren't as effective today, so what can be done to improve matters? For those that find themselves hitting roadblocks, in this regard, here are some Long Island advertising pointers to know.

First, for the most part, forget what you know about traditional marketing. The reason for this, according to such companies as fishbat, is that Generation Z customers aren't going to be so easily swayed by them. They're less likely to gravitate toward TV commercial and radio spots, which are seen as "old school," which is where the Internet comes into play. Digital content matters, so make this a priority.

Second, waste as little time as possible. While the misconception exists that Generation Z members have little attention span, they are still unlikely to take to marketing messages if they last too long. If you have a message to convey, do so promptly. Cut as much fluff out as you can so that you target audience has the essential details. This will make your promotional efforts all the more effective, no matter what you have to sell or provide.

Generation Z advertising should be inclusive, too. Now more than ever, it seems, it's important to reach out to as many groups as possible that fall under this umbrella. There are many factors to consider as well, ranging from interests and education to gender and ethnicity. To say that reaching to multiple groups is important would be an understatement, but this is perhaps no more important than when it comes to Gen Z.

Lastly, if you're serious about your Gen Z marketing efforts, consider what you have to offer at large. This doesn't just apply to your products and services, either, as younger people gravitate toward businesses that help people. Be transparent about your mission statement and who you strive to help. By offering such details, you will be able to market your business to younger people, potentially increasing leads and sales alike.
