Rules are generally in place on these platforms and it is essential that artists remain in compliance with them for best results.

Before asking for or taking any money, musicians should have a solid game plan in place. They should be fully aware of how they intend to use the money and explain it in depth to potential contributors. Not following through on the initial plan could lead to distrust in the musician and other problems.

If there are changes to how they intend to the spend the money, these should relayed to those who donated. Furthermore, people who contributed and were promised perks or special presents should receive them as promised. It is important to maintain a positive reputation, especially starting out in this industry.
